I have been counselling for 22 years, 18 of those post-qualification. I first qualified with a Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling in 2001 at the Metanoia Institute. I later completed an MSc training in Person Centred Psychotherapy (Metanoia Inst.2008). Ihave been accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy as a counsellor/psychotherapist since 2004. I am also a UKRC Registered Independent Practitioner. I abide by the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy and am subject to its complaints procedure.
I have been counselling young people for 22 years, in state and independent schools, a young offenders' institution, a youth counselling service and here in my private practice. I set up and managed a school counselling service for 19 years and expanded it to include three other counsellors, whom I trained and supervised.
I also offer Counselling Supervision
I am a qualified counselling supervisor, having trained initially in 2003 with Robin Shohet and Joan Wilmot. My further training was with Psychology Matters in 2004, where I gained a certificate in Person Centred Supervision. I have practised for over 15 years and am on the Metanoia-approved list for the Person-Centred BA, MSc and Humanistic Therapy courses. I have supervised for charities, schools, youth counselling services. I have also supervised occupational therapists, head-teachers and careers advisors. I continue to supervise students from Year One of training to preparation of final dissertations and vivas for MSc. I am on the list of approved, trained examiners for the Metanoia Person-centred Diploma and BA courses.
Because I see a high proportion of students of counselling and psychotherapy, I do not offer a general student discount.
